o.o

While reading my usual news sites this morning (afternoon) I came across this and this.

"Discrimination against albinos is a serious problem throughout sub-Saharan Africa, but recently in Tanzania it has taken a wicked twist: at least 19 albinos, including children, have been killed and mutilated in the past year, victims of what Tanzanian officials say is a growing criminal trade in albino body parts."

I suppose an African safari vacation would be a no-no for me.

It wasn't very high on my must-see-before-I-die list but I always thought it would be interesting. I feel a bit bad about being flippant regarding the deaths of those poor people and focusing on myself. Ah well, such the cabbage.

Its too hot and sunny there anyway - we need to go find those unpopulated cold, dark places in the world.

Hear hear! I'm all for dark and cold, especially if there's rain involved. Snow not so much though.

Hi there!

Sadly, it's become a big issue in Africa, apparently they have a disproportionate number afflicted with albinism and the prices are really high for their body parts. It's quite depressing.

Er, sorry about that, I don't think you popped over for a lecture, it's just a big issue with me. Thank you very much for the birthday wishes and the icon love! Yours is great too, very art nouveau. Oh and happy holidays, too!

not a lecture, just information i did not know before. i don't know why i'm continuously surprised by human cruelty, but i am. :/ thanks for the holiday wishes :)
